Nutrition Event: "Eradicating Child Undernutrition to Harness Demographic Dividend " - March 20 2017

The African Union Commission (AUC) and NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA) in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will be hosting a lunch event on the margins of the Second Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Health, Population and Drug Control. The event will take place at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

This event will serve as a platform to present and discuss various studies which have been key in influencing nutrition decision and policies at the regional and national level, amongst them - Cost of Hunger in Africa Study. It will also create the opportunity to share experiences and learn of policies and programmes and best practices in place from various member states and experts on addressing undernutrition.

The event will also promote the theme of the African Union of 2017, and will highlight that ending child under-nutrition in the continent is central to Africa’s sustainable growth, through harnessing the demographic dividend.
